Help! Ongoing problems with self built system

Hi

First post on here, i built my pc a year or so ago, but it was put in storage for a while. Now that I have it back again I am trying to work out what is wrong with it (the problem existed before it went into storage)

The system specs for the pc are as follows:

Asus ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT SILENT Heatpipe 512MB GDDR3
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator DHX PC2-6400C4 TwinX (2x1GB)
Asus M2R32-MVP Crossfire (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ 3.00GHz (Socket AM2)
Akasa Ultra Quiet 650W Power+ iQ Active PFC ATX2.01 PSU
Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB 5000AAKS SATA-II 16MB Cache

Basically a normal boot up consists of a BSOD after the windows XP load screen followed by a normal boot and log in. Then once in windows the system will tick along, but should i go into a game such as Front Line FUl of War or Medal of Honour Airborne, the games will load up but once it gets in the action the whole system will turn off, no error messages, no nothing, the system will then not turn back on for a good 5 -10 minutes and then I am back to square one with the BSOD.

The BSOD message starts 0000004e, parameter1 0000008f

If anyone has any idea what is happening to my system please help as I am at my wits end with it.

If you need further information please let me know.
