Re: Nvidia 7600gs fps problem

What game are you trying to play? Also, does this happen to all your games? It looks like your CPU is running hot from your screenshot. Try downloading SpeedFan from here:http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php
Post your the temps it gives you. Also, run a game and see what the temp is after playing it. It could be that your gpu is overheating.

Re: Nvidia 7600gs fps problem

Post your complete system specs. Processor, ram, mobo, Power supply, etc
Also, find out what the +12v rail amperage is. If you don't know it, then open the side of the case, and look at the power supply. It should have it written on the side.

Re: Nvidia 7600gs fps problem

Well, a 7600gs should have 18A on the +12 rail. You only have 16A. This would explain why newer games aren't running well, because they require more draw on the graphics card. How long have you had this current setup? Power supplies degrade over time, and under powering your system would have accelerated the process. This is the most likely reason that I can figure out.

Sometimes it will work for a while. But over time you can always run into problems.

Re: Nvidia 7600gs fps problem

One last ditch effort might be to check task manager. See if there are any programs or services that are eating up your ram or cpu usage. Ending those would free up more resources for your games. Again though, your PSU does appear to be underpowered.

Re: Nvidia 7600gs fps problem

Did you check task manager? Go under the processes tab and sort them to see the greatest usage at the top.

Re: Nvidia 7600gs fps problem

Well, it looks like your cpu usage is ok. If your video card is overheating then games will run slower. It depends on your card though. There is no magical number you pass. Download gpu-z. This will give you an accurate temp on your card. http://www.softpedia.com/progDownloa...oad-85523.html
I don't know what else to suggest. Other than you might have to replace your power supply.

Re: Nvidia 7600gs fps problem

Your temperature looks ok. As for upgrading your Power Supply, what is your budget? Also, do you plan on upgrading your gpu in the near future? This one should work great with your current setup: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817703017
And Your Welcome.
