Performance issue
Purchased Pre-Built Fujitsu siemens deskpot PC few months ago, heres some specs :
Geforce 9600 GT 512mb 3gb RAM DDR2 Intel core 2 @ q6600 2,4 ghz (Quad) Windows Vista Sp1 originally but switched to XP pro (x32) Ask if ya need more detailed specs So, Recently purchased Mirrors edge and noticed that im running very low FPS rate combining to other people using 9600 GT on, Eg. Youtube ,with dual core processor(maxed settings of course). That guy had like 60 FPS with fraps. Also, one of my mates has slower card and processor, but hes still running every game smoother than my machine, no overclocking or anything, his comp just wasnt pre built. Im really worried about this since with those computer specs i think i should be able to run mostly every game maxed. Since the processor power is quite huge, Im assuming the problem is releated to my graphics card. Also theres many Games i were assuming i could run maxed with decent fps, but quite dissapointed. Is there a problem or something or am i just overlookin my graphics card? Assassins creed runs maxed quite fine btw and fallout 3, but some MMO's and games like Mirrors edge are not running aswell as they should from what ive seen of other comps with 9600 GT , Like the chronicles of spellborn which is made via Unreal 3 engine, Gives me very bad FPS with all settings maxed. Well enough blahblah , help me~! ![]() do i need bios optimization, or what? lol just throwing something But i know it should be able to do betta performance, Thats why posting here. Dunno if its even a valid problem but for me, it is. Last edited by Dajesse; 03-25-2009 at 03:13 PM. |

Re: 9600 GT on a prebuilt PC
Which version of 3dMark?
I use 3dMark06 and get a little over 14000 with my E8500 cpu overclocked to 4Ghz and my 9800GT overclocked as much as I can and not artifact out.

Re: 9600 GT on a prebuilt PC
The 9600 only comes in pci.
What power supply is in the system (make and model) , For a 9600 you'll need a decent 500w. Also make sure the system isn't to hot and that there are no other cpu intensive tasks running.

Re: 9600 GT on a prebuilt PC
The 9600GT takes a 6 pin pci-e connector from the power supply, does your stock psu have one of those? And, if so, is it connected to the card?
I would not run that card with the stock psu from an OEM pc manufacturer. Ever. Get a 550watt Corsair, that'll run it fine. I stuck Mirror's Edge on my parents pc, since I'm there on vacation. With an 8600GT and a 600w. OCZ psu, there's no lag at the highest settings.

Do you have the latest Nvidia driver installed? Are you aware that the game Mirror Edge support PhysX? PhysX game will make your fps drops because of your card calculating physX and at the same time it renders the graphics. |
