[SOLVED] no video
Hi I have a problem with my gateway gt5200 and need some help fixing it. I boot up my computer and get the logo sign and when that goes away I have nothing. The computer has the one beep that tells me the hard drive is firing up and you can hear the hard drives. I can not boot up in safe mode but I can go to my bios. I tried a video card in the pci slot but I got no signal, so I need to know how to disable the onboard video chip on motherboard c51pvgm-gb. I have searched and can not find where in the bios to disable video. I found in the bios under advanced chipset features the first line onboard gpu and the two options are enable if no ext gpu or always enable. I tried to always enable but that didn't work. I had and old trident card that did flash the trident logo and then it went black. My friend gave me a pci slot video card that has a fan on it and it is a asus en7300gs/htd/256m/a at least that is what is on the back. So if anybody can help me or give me some suggestions l would be truly grateful..........thanks.........two-dogs

Re: no video
Ok I am going to try something I have an old hard drive and I have xp on it. I will boot from the old hard drive and do the change directory and access the crashed hard drive then I will try and make a few commands and change the boot. Can that be done? This all started when my video went out I had vista on the two hard drives and the old hard drive I loaded xp on it. That is when I got the error message that I have now this sucks. I have limited skills and that make me frustrated to say the least. I will get back to you with my results.............two-dogs

Re: no video
I was messing around and booted from the old hard drive and went to the crashed drive and went into System32 and was looking around and found the Machine Guid and it is not all f's. I also see in the system32 a file that has blue letters and I have never seen that before. Could that be my problem?
