Is there a difference really other than the name?

The manufacturer. nVidia licences the reference design to them, and they build the card based on that. If purchased new, evga has a lifetime warranty when registered within 30 days.

and whats is your PSU name brand and wattage? I can probably find something better than a 8800GT
