Confused Help with Screen Resolution?

I guess this is the right forum for posting this kind of problem...

Anywho, my new screen is a 1440x900 native, like my last one, which had no problem running. It is also one of those monitor/TV crossover's, if thats important. The problem is, the "Maximum Reported Resolution" for it, in my graphics card catalyst control panel is 1360x768, and even if i disable my graphics card from auto-detecting it's native resolution, the higher resolutions that grants me access to still do not contain 1440x900.

I was wondering if i could screw with any files or anything like that to modify my screens resolution to it's true native resolution, because right now, everything looks eye-stabbingly fuzzy and unfocused.

Any help would be sorely appreciated

Edit: btw, my graphics card is an ATI Radeon x300/x550/x1050, if that helps at all (sure doesn't look helpful, i don't know it displays as 3 different types...)
