Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 500 grapics card Questions...
Hi, Im not sure if this is the right section but,
I've been checking out UMPCs and one of the main things I'm looking for is for it to be able to run basic 3D games, (Cartoon MMOs such as Grand Chase/Pangya). The Sony Vaio PC series look like the sort of thing I'm looking for, they come with the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 500 grapics card. I have checked the wiki page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_GMA) which says "a flexible, programmable architecture that supports shader-based technology, 2D, 3D and advanced 3D graphics". I don't understand all the techincal stuff, but would someone be able to confirm for me that it would be able to run such games (also bearing in mind it has 2GB RAM)? thank you! |

Re: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 500 grapics card Questions...
its still not worth getting intel graphics
Asus M50VC-AS001C Laptop, Core 2 Duo P8400 2.26 GHz, 4096MB, 320GB, 15.4" TFT, Blu-ray Combo, Vista Home Premium £786.41 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/147940 this one has Nvidia 9300M graphics card. Mot exactly a strong card but its better than Intel. and it has Blu ray so if you got cables to hook up to your TV you can Blu ray movies |

Re: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 500 grapics card Questions...
cheers for the link, I just love the look and size of the Vaio P series http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...52921644608896
almost half the size of that one - so as long as it can play pangya/grand chase, even on the lowest settings, i'll be happy http://static.spawnpoint.com/images/...andChase10.JPG http://static.spawnpoint.com/images/...123_155241.JPG http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi.../c4/Pangya.jpg http://www.marsenergy.com.au/Ryan/images/pangya_013.jpg from what i understand the card uses ram for graphics processing, and as the vaio has 2GB of it, it should be ok shouldnt it? *EDIT* heres a link directly to the stats which explain things: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_GMA#GMA_500 oh, and here are the specs for one of the games: Minimum Requirements Recommended Requirements Windows® System 98 Windows® System XP Intel Pentium III 800 MHz Intel Pentium IV 1.5 GHz 256 MB 512 MB 2.5GB HDD capacity 3.5GB HDD capacity DirectX 8.1b DirectX 9.0c 3D support Graphic Card 3D support Graphic Card 1024*768 1024*768 Last edited by crimsonnight; 03-09-2009 at 11:03 AM. |
