I am John,
I have a bit older PC with configuratiion a follows: Intel 440BX motherboard Intel PIII 550 Mhz 512 MB SDRAM Trident Video Accelerator 96XX/938X (2 MB with no D3D) Problem: I wanted to upgrade my Video card as i was not able to play games as i have no 3D. I brought a nVIDIA Geforce 2 Mx200 video card with 32 MB memory which was enoughr for me. I installed the Video card but when my PC booted up it was flashing an error "SPD Not connected at Dimm(s) 3" but it succesfully started. I was able to see my deskop but wgat happened was that after 2 mins of seeing the desktop the whole screen went blank just a mere nderscore was flashing on the top left corner of screen and nothing happened after that. I removed one of my SDRAM and te warning being shown was fixed and there was no problem while booting. I thought i have got my problem fixed but however again after starting , 2mins later the same thing happened... Pls suggest any measures!!!!!!!!!

Re: No Display After upgrading the Video Card
Well seems like a ram problem obviously. I also run into a similar problem with my dual pentium 3 machine , it has memory errors based on the video card's I install. Different videocards produce different memory problems. To date the only solution I found was to use very low amounts of memory such as 3 or 4 sticks of 64mb of ram.
I'd say for you first try going into the bios and try every "agp aperture size" setting starting with the lowest. That seems to help mine on it's lowest setting. It's really tough to get new hardware running stable on these old machines.
