Pixelated Screen then Crash

Hey everyone,

So I built my first computer on monday for gaming.. and this is my first time doin anything like that. I had a buddy with me that does it often and also a tech from Fry's electronics helping me pic parts out. First things first here is the spec..

Cooler Master Elite 341 mATX Case
Intel Core2Duo E7400 2.80GHz Processor
ECS G31T-M 1333 Motherboard
nVidia eVGA 9800GTX + Graphics Card
Rhino Panther 450W Power Supply
Hitachi 0A35399 250GB SATA/300 Hard Drive
DDR2 4GB PC6400 Dual Ram
Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit

I built the PC for WoW. However the past 3 days that i've had it, after playing WoW for a little while the screen becomes pixelated with like (blue, green, purple, yellow?) colors and then freezes followed by a restart. I thought it might just be overheating since there was only the 120mm fan in the back of the case, one on the 9800gtx+ and one on the Core2Duo processor. Yesterday i went to Fry's Electronics and told them what was happening they said it sounds like the vid card or processor is over heating so i bought three 120mm asus fans and put those in there. The comp runs steady 35-40C temp wise at all times since i've been on the lookout.

I'm just wondering what else it could be? I'm nowhere near smart with computers and everything is still under warranty/return policy for the next 10 days so I was just wondering what I should do from everyone elses point of view or if i'm just crazy and missed something.

Thanks a lot!

Corey

Re: Pixelated Screen then Crash

your gpu is starved for power, you need a min 750w to run that system you got.
I would try another psu see if that helps

yes the gpu is the video card, and yes your power supply is weak for your system. Look for a quality 750w psu
