I recently bought a new monitor for my desktop, and my video card could not handle the optimal resolution. So I had to live with the best it could do. It's a little pixelated.
Later I wanted to update my graphics card. But I looked around and saw that it might be better to just buy a new computer, even though I don't have the money to do that. My computer is quite old. I put some RAM in there, but the CPU is still old. So I'm wondering, what should I do? I have attached my computer information. |

Re: What should I do?
What do you use the pc for? . . It's not as powerfull as a new one would be, but if you have a AGP slot, you should be able to find a decent AGP video card for it for not a lot of money.

Re: What should I do?
I use it to play a few games, they aren't extremely graphic intense. Could you tell me how to find a compatible video card for my computer? I have no idea.
Also, the recommended resolution for my monitor is 1440 by 900. I saw that my video card can handle 1600 by 1200. How can I get it to the the recommended resolution? Thanks for your help. |

Re: What should I do?
You need to look and see if you have an AGP slot for the card . . not all Gateways do. You should be able to change the resolution by Righ clicking on any empty space on the Desktop . . Select Properties . . click on the Settings tab and move the slider to the resolution you want. Have you installed the newest drivers for your video you have now?

Re: What should I do?
Any of these would be an improvement over the onboard graphics . .
