[SOLVED] where,s my desktop.

just installed nvidia geforce fx 5500, graphics card,and uninstalled,Intel{R}8284G/GL graphic controller.When booted up,my toolbar is at the bottom of screen ;fine, but none of my desktop icons are showing,they all appear to be to the left of screen,out of picture,whats the problem ,any remedies would be grateful thanks,mailer

You need to install the drivers for the new video card or use updated drivers for the new video card

May be you need to adjust the resolution to a much smaller one.

ive got the disc ,the programs are of screen cannot see install information to activate,these drivers

and also tried,downloading new drivers, the download sequince stops or freezes.no luck there .

You could right click the desktop and go to arrange icons by somthing and see if they assemble on your screen properly.

ive done the right click,as i said icons are on left of screen, out of picture, ive been able to drag icons onto screen . But when you open these , the programs are out on left of screen, i sometimes can find these,with the cursur but not all the times. im going to try taking out new card .installing the onboard one, and try again, like[Arnie ]"ill be back"

just,solved my problem. went into bios at startup, changed display settings, booted up ,things look fine after changing resolution.
