video card or computer problem?
I got a blue screen a couple of days ago saying that a file named atkdisp was in an infinate loop. so i re-installed windows xp and the problem seems to be gone but now i have tried to install my graphic card drivers and as i try to install them i get to the final step which is to restart the pc but when i log in my video card is not installed and i see verticle yellow lines on my screen what should i do?

what are you running
video card cpu m/board ram power supply brand wattage check the listings in the bios for voltages and temperatures and post them

if the display was working better without the video card drivers installed try and do a restore back to before you installed the drivers and leave well enough alone.
a big assumption on my part that the video looked fine with just the windows video drivers installed! |

the volts of the psu are not much use

if you are running an agp video card your power supply may suffice
if you are running a pcie system you are totally underpowered it is difficult to help you you can see the computer we cannot we need the information we ask for so we can see what we are dealing with video card cpu m/board ram power supply brand wattage
