Intel Mobile 965 TV Resolution Nightmare!
Hi there,
Having a problem with a Comapq Presario C740EM with the Intel Mobile 965 graphics chipset. The problem occurs when connecting it to an external display (in this case a sony KDL26T30XX 720p LCD TV) via the 15 pin D-Sub connector to the same D-Sub on the TV via a standard VGA cable. The TV supports 1280 x 768 @ 60Hz however, the chipset will only output 1024 x 768 ![]() The laptop panel is sitting quite happily at 1280 x 800 but the only options for the extended display are 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768. I've tried the new drivers from compaq I've tried the newer drivers from intel I've tried powerstrip I've tried changing the display driver from "Non PnP Generic" to "1280 x 800 flat pannel" I've been googling my **** off but have found no solution as yet. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Rich |

Re: Intel Mobile 965 TV Resolution Nightmare!
Welcome to tsf.
Either the gpu doesn't support that res or the tv just displays it's pc inputs at 1024x768. You could contact sony and ask if the tv requires a driver. If the monitor (or tv in this case)isn't plug and play it will only show just basic resolutions.
