Need help finding out a problem
I am having a problem with my video card. My problem started off small with the small distortions on the screen. It has now grown to the point where nothing can be made sense of what is displayed. I've run a diagnostic software that came with my computer but not the video card because I now have to have the computer run on the integrated graphics and every thing it tested was fine. I have also set the computer back to factory settings so nothing was on it but what came with it to rule out and driver or software problem.
Anyhow what I want to know is is this problem fix able with out getting a new card and how? P.S. I also checked the fan on the video card and it works fine so i don't its overheated although I have not taken it out to visually inspect because I an not sure if it would be visable. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_gdr.080917-1612) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: HP-Pavilion System Model: m9040n Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz Memory: 3062MB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 10 DxDiag Version: 6.00.6001.18000 32bit Unicode Video Card: Nivdia Geforce 8400 GS (This is what it came with) |

Re: Need help finding out a problem
and welcome to the ForumIf it works on on the internal video and not on the PCI card, the card has almost certainly gone bad
