High performace games crash - aplication closes, no OS crash - power problem ?
Hi , my first post here....
I've got some problems I thought were Graphics card related. When I play a game, when the fans speed up, the application/game crashes. Windows is OK, error logs only show application failure. My system: OS: Windows XP Pro Mother board: ASUS P5NSLI Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 7950X2 (2 GPUs with 512GB each) Memory: 2X 1GB RAM 2 SATA HDD, floppy, ethernet card I had a PowerLC LC6550 GP2 550W PSU. Crashes happened occasionally Today I replaced the PSU with a Powercool Extreme 850W 80+ and now the apps crash whenever the fan speeds up.... Any help would be useful |

If you have Ntune installed you can get it in the performance section, or D/L GPUz and get it from that> http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads...-Z_v0.2.8.html

Re: High performace games crash - aplication closes, no OS crash - power problem ?
My CPU is a Intel Core 2 E6600
GPU temp = 66deg C with fan @39%, climbing up to 74deg while just typing this A systemadmin friend of mine suggested the southbridge may be fried. I get application crashes when doing anything with high-end graphics and BSOD when I try to do a full backup of C: using Acronis True-image |

This got worst after installing the new PSU? Have you checked the voltages in the Bios?
The GPU temp isn't that bad they will run upper 80's under load. The cpu however should be in the 30's, check that all 4 legs of the cpu cooler are still tight on the motherboard and that the heat sink is clean of dust. |

CPU and GPU are too hot did you check the heat sinks on both?
Make sure the Video card fan is working. |
