Dog ran into tower, now no video
Hey guys, Just want to put out the customary I am a noob when it comes to pc issues. Tonight my f-ing dog ran full speed into the desktop instantly rendering my screen to a black darkness, then a no input found going to power save message. I looked briefly at the internals but nothing seems to be noticably loose or broken. Btw I am rocking a Viao PCV-RS 310. I shut down and restarted but nothing, what could be broken/not attached?

OK.
Do your fans turn on in the computer including the power supply fan? Do the Power and Hard Drive lights come on? Does the Hard drive spin up? Are the RAM modules seated correctly? Are all the power cables seated correctly? |

Re: Dog ran into tower, now no video
In your last post, you asked about removing and reinserting your memory sticks. You got it right in one guess instead of three.
Get it? Give you three guesses. ( Must be an age thing). |

Yes, try reseating the ram as well as any extension cards you may have. while you're at it check your Data cables and make sure the clips on your processor fan are snug. (Do not press down on the fan/heat sink or you could damage the processor. Just check the clips)
Also make sure the cables between your monitor and computer are snug at both ends. |

Re: Dog ran into tower, now no video
Now, build a nice sturdy metal cage around your tower with at least 6 inches of clearance to allow for those really hard hits.
Joking of course. I just hope your dog realizes that running into the big box on the floor is not a good thing to do. |

This has been resolved, but I saw the title of the post and laughed.
Put one of those invisible electric fences around your computer, but not too close to where it makes some sort of exponential magnetic field around your computer. >_>; |

![]() The messed up thing is the dog is a jack russell-pit bull mix, 35lbs of muscle and adrenaline. Seriously though the bolted down computer cage is a good idea, they need to cross market that to dog owners |
