Green and Red dot's problem
Ok, I have an idea of what it might be but here is the problem.
I recently built a computer and just put it all together and I turn it on and all is working well. Then I installed my GPU drivers and restarted my computer and it started to tweek out. Red and Green pixels started flashing all over my screen randomly. Then sooner or later it just starts to die and the screen goes black. I've tried re-installing (Im doing it a 3rd time right now) and so far its no good. I'm installing XP Pro SP2 My build is as fallows MoBo - ASUS M3A78 Pro Case - RAIDMAX Scorpio ATX-868WS Power - 420watts PS2 ATX12V Power Supply CPU - AMD Phenom 9950 Agena 2.6GHz RAM - G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 GPU - SAPPHIRE 100265L Radeon HD 4830 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Edit: What a pain, the 3rd installation now works fine but then after a few seconds gives me the BSOD. I'm going to try safe mode =/ Safe Mode boots fine. I'm finding my computer doesn't crash till I install the drivers. I don't know if it was the same problem, but it was suggested that it was my power supply not giving enough power. If yah need more info i'll be here ~Thanks Last edited by xPi; 01-30-2009 at 12:54 AM. |

Re: Green and Red dot's problem
420w is not enough for a 4800 card, even if it is a quality supply powering a quad and a 4800 will soon bring it to it's knees, at least 600w if not 650w of one of these brands and models>
Seasonic - any model Corsair - any model Thermaltake - "Toughpower" series only Coolermaster - "Real Power Pro" series only PC Power & Cooling - any model Silverstone - any model |
