Need some quick help please...

If I have a 305 watt PSU and get a video card that rates a 400w PSU what may be the consequences?

This isn't for gaming I just need dual monitor support so I can work on one monitor and watch the security cameras on another so I don't think i will really be stressing the system too much.

Re: Need some quick help please...

Well if it is not for gaming you can always buy some less power consuming graphic card but for any PCI-E graphic card you should consider on buying at least good quality 450W PSU because you will never know what you can buy in future...

Re: Need some quick help please...

This isn't acually for me it is for a customer of mine. There will no gaming. It will be used for email, internet, and Quickbooks. Just need a second monitor so she can launch a Web browser, move the browser window to the second monitor, and put the IP address of the camera system in the browser to monitor the security cameras while she works. Aside from the machine being on for 8 hours day it leads, what seems to be, a pretty stress free life.
