[SOLVED] GTX 295 driver errors
I'm at wits end. I recently purchased a GTX 295 to run on my Striker Extreme board. Once I finally got the card installed, I couldn't get my computer to post. After several hours of changing hardware (from PSU to MoBo), I was finally able to get my computer to post on my brother's P5E Deluxe. I finished a Windows reinstall and the installed chipset drivers with no problems, but when I restarted my comptuer after I installed video drivers the computer would stay in Windows for a few seconds before i got a driver failure BSOD. I changed MoBos back to my Striker Extreme and was able to get the comptuer to post, only to have the same problem after I installed the drivers.
I've run tests on all 8Gb of my memory, tried a new powersupply, power adapters, PCI-E slots, and even done a Bios flash to no avail. If I could get any help on this, it would be much appreciated. Striker Extreme 8Gb DDR2 800 Intel Core2 Duo E8400 GTX 295 ThermalTake 850W PSU Antec Ninehundred Case I got fed up with my issue and decided to completely change out my hardware and software, so I bought a Gigabytex58, a i7 920, with 6 Gb of 1600 Mhz Super Talent RAM. I also tried installing the new Windows 7 Beta. After I rebooted when my video card drivers installed, it still blue screened. But after another boot, the comptuer worked fine for about 8 hours, until it froze after closing a program. Now it BSOD before it can even boot all the way into Windows. After a Vista 64 reinstall, the computer still BSOD after about 15 seconds into Windows. I think i've just about got it down to an issue with the video card itself, because I don't know what else to do. Last edited by dai; 06-28-2009 at 09:58 PM. |

Re: GTX 295 driver errors
im having the same problem, bought a zotac gtx295 installed into q6600, 4gb ocz ddr2 800 ram, 850w psu, new ga board, and 1 sata drive, once i install latest drivers on either win xp sp3, or fresh install vista 32bit sp1.
Get driver errors, screen either hangs or goes to bluescreen with driver errors. I tried several different mother boards, psus, rams, fresh installs, nothing helps, even thow previous gtx275, older 8800gt, and a ati card works perfectly under same drivers, this is obviously a problem with the card and the drivers supporting this card. having trouble finding any support for this. So how did this turn out for you? did you replace the card, and everything's fine, or settled for a different card? id appreciate if you could spread the word. I've talked to support where they think there's an issue with the software, but works fine with every other card/configuration, i have all updates/bios/drivers/driver cleaner installed. Im done with this , for anyone who finds themselves with a driver error on a gtx295, just send it back for another one, or replace with the a different card, Im going with a slower ati 4870 x2. Thanks for listening |
