Hey everyone, i've been recently browsing this forum and found a few threads that are quite similar to my situation, but are slightly different.
The backstory - Last night I was on my computer, i was notified that Vista had downloaded updates so I decided to restart and let the updates install. When i started up my computer again, everything seemed fine until later in the boot, my Acer Widescreen monitor notified it had no signal, i restarted and later went into safe mode to try and find a solution. My screen worked fine in safe mode, desktop was visible, so i then tried downloading a Nvidia driver for 64bit Vista to see if that would fix the problem. I still got the no signal error - then the screen went into standby. Through multiple attempts of installing/uninstalling drivers, the only video driver that seemed to work was the default Microsoft one. (Around 14MB of memory) As a last attempt, i backed up all impotant files on my HDD and reinstalled Vista, everything started up like it should but when i tried installing the latest drivers (even the CD that came with my card), my screen would be unresponsive. ![]() I apologize for the wall of text, but i thought i should be as specific as possible to find a fix. I am currently not at home and cannot really name my PSU or Motherboard details. Thanks, Toradeth |
