Video card problem
Here is the situation. Went to turn on my computer this morning and just before i got to the log on screen my curser turned to an hour-glass for ten seconds then my monitor lost signal and i couldn't get it back.
This is what i have tried to do to remedy/narrow down the problem: Restarted the system (still the same) Turned off the computer Disconnected and re connected the monitor cables at both ends (still the same) Made sure the video card was seated properly (still the same) Tried another known working monitor (still the same) Then i tried switching to the second dvi port and it started to work. Now i'm wondering what people think, is this a sign my video card is going or possibly a driver conflict (updated the drivers) or something else? My graphics card is a Nvidia Geforce 7800 GT 256 MB Monitor a BENQ FP71V+ Resolution 1280 x 1024 75 hz OS Windows XP PRo I have also had this problem on the second dvi port about 10 minutes ago but a restart got it going, so now the computer stays on lol. Thanks for any help I can get. |
