hey guys just got 9800gtx+ 1gb

So after my third rma through evga with my old 8800gtx they went ahead and "upgraded" me to a 9800gtx+ 1gb http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130429

well so far I have found little to no information on this version with 1gb, no benchmarks, nothing! So is this really an upgrade? Personally I don't see a huge difference, maybe a little smoother but not more than 5fps or so. I play games at 1680 by 1050 if that makes a difference between the two. I do like how this card runs much much cooler idling around 42-44c and under load 65c and uses much less power and requires only one 6pin power connector.

I was contemplating adding another 8800gtx but then they through me this curve ball. what do you guys think? maybe get another 9800?

8800GTX is still a Beast of a card. Many people will tell you that.

You could always get another 9800 but i would sell both and get the 260GTX or 280GTX.

Yeah i mean i had no doubt my 8800gtx was awsome, considering its still one of the best after this long. But now that i've had this card fall in my lap is it worth keeping?

Re: hey guys just got 9800gtx+ 1gb

Well i guess i don't really have a choice since i had to send back my 8800gtx so i'm stuck with my 9800gtx. I like the idea of adding another because it only requires a 6pin power connector and my psu is only 850watt which is plenty for sli 9800gtx but stretching it for sli 8800gtx.

After doing my own benchmarking and comparisons i've found that the new 9800gtx is only slightly better but is better. I saw on average a 3-5fps increase in crysis but really if you couple these gains with the fact is runs sooooo much cooler, smaller, runs better sli, and uses less power makes it an improvement but it was also given to me :)
