Re: Hot graphics card?

Are these temperatures in idle mode [when you or not doing anything, but only system booted] or when you play some game, watch movie or surfing while listening some music???

Active cooler has active ventilator and passive cooler is without it just metal ribs...
Open one side of the case if you can and check...

and i opened up the case erm, its got a cover over it then all i can see is the fan?

Re: Hot graphics card?

The power supply looks decent , but doesnt have enough amps on the single 12v rails (only 19). Try combineing the rails before they go into the gpu so you can get some more power out of it.

Re: Hot graphics card?

That PSU has a combined output of 700W, which is provided by three 12V rails. 12V1 is rated at 16A and powers the motherboard, CPU1 and first PCI-E plug, 12V2 is rated at 25A and powers CPU2, the second PCI-E and S-ATA plugs while 12V3 is rated at 17A and powers the Molex plugs.

It is extremely unstable PSU, i would definately recommend a better quality one. Please do not combine the rails, this is very dangerous and will not provide any benefit as this PSU is not a true "multi-rail" design.

You need something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139005
