eVGA 9800 GT running hot under no load?
I just put this rig together, and my 9800GT it running at 70 degrees celsius idling. I don't know the first thing to check in this circumstance, though I have been installing software and drivers since I got the desktop running.
The CPU and system temps seem fine in the bios but I'm worried about the card. I haven't tried to play a game yet or anything. Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0ghz Gigabyte Motherboard 4 Gigs Corsair DDR2 Corsair 650 Watt PSU eVGA 9800 GT |

Re: eVGA 9800 GT running hot under no load?
I just went into nTune and increased the fan speed from 30% (default) to 40% and the temp is crawling down slowly. Its a 63 Celsius now and looks like its still going down some.
What is the fastest I should push this fan speed to keep it cool and safe? |
