GPU getting enough power?

Hello guys. I have a Nvidia 8600M GT video card. 512 dedicated Memory. A 1.83 Core 2 Duo Processor and 4 gigs of DDR2 Ram. My problem is sometimes, when im playing games like World of Warcraft, my framerate will drop from about 80fps to about 20fps and sometimes far worse than that. It willl normally go back to normal after a few minites but what im thinking is that my card isnt getting enough power from the power supply. Im using the original one that came with my laptop although, shortly after i got it, my puppy chewed on the cable. It wasnt badly damaged at all although u could see the wirering. I havent actaully had my games crash or freeze up but my tempenture while playing is around 80 degrees celcius. Not sure if thats normal for a laptop graphics card but that also leads me to believe its not getting enough power. Thats really hot. I have the latest drivers for my gpu installed. My power supply's Input is 100-240v and the output is 19v. Also. is there a way for me to check how much power my gpu actually requires? And how much its actually getting? Thanks in advance for any help. i jut dont wanna go out and spend 80 bucks on a powersupply if i dont need one.

thats really hot. 80 degree celcius. better get a cooling pad. coz with that temp you will shorten the life of your laptop.

Re: GPU getting enough power?

I know, but ive tried cooling pads and they dont work worth a crap, i just have it propped up with two bottle caps atm and that works better than the cooling pad i have. But could the problem be that my card isnt getting enough power?
