[SOLVED] Rampage 2 vs evga's x58

I recently switched from a rampage 2 ex. to evga'sx58 motherboard. I used 2x4870x2 with the rampage and I am currently using 3 gtx280's with the x58..Using 3dmark vantage (default settings ) when I tested the rampage, setting everything default and factory specs on the mem/cpu and all voltage's at specs, I scored only 24000-25000 on the cpu and of course a respectfull gpu score. I ran the same test on the x58 using the same memory and cpu and same factory settings and got almost twice the cpu score 45000+ oh ya I am now using 3way sli 280's (they also scored higher than the 2x4870x2) what I am wondering, and cannot explain, is were did this big jump in cpu performance come from. you should have seen how fast the crash test ran (cpu) I never seen anything like it and I haven't seen scores like this yet with my i7 965 still not clocked. Has any one else seen this happen? can anyone explain this

Re: Rampage 2 vs evga's x58

OK I'm feeling pretty stupid however I bought my first hp computer aug 2006. I figured out why the score was higher with nvidia, I guess its the physx used by the gpu's, when I disabled the ppu in vantage my system showed its true colors(25000) but I was still a bit higher than the rampage two + 2x4870x2/ I am definately sold on the 3 way sli using 280's I have been beating the crap out of this system and not so much as a cough. I did clock it to 4ghz but I leave her stock she's fast enough without haveing to beat the life out of her and I'm ony using water on my cpu
