Display Issues with new ATI CCC
Ok heres the rundown:
3.2ghz pentium 4 ATI 9800 PRO HP W2207 monitor latest ATI Catalyst driver package (9.3 I think) My issue is: I just purchased the monitor after using a CRT since the dawn of time, and I installed the HP drivers. At the time I was running it analog and using an older set of ATI drivers. I first noticed my games suddenly ran like garbage even at their native resolutions, on the same exact settings that would cause them to run perfectly on my old CRT. Switched to DVI and successfully eliminated that problem, but a new problem has arisen. I can't select any higher then 800x600 in any older (pre 2005) game now, and when running the LCD in analog I was able to select all the way up to the monitors native resolution. Some games won't even run and simply crash upon launch. More recent games such as Half-Life 2 and the likes willl allow me the option of 1680x1050, and run fine (as well as my card can handle anyway). I've been through every possible option in the Catalyst and HP drivers, and have not had a single bit of luck. The resolution issue is bothering me the most though. Any help would be great, thanks all. |
