[SOLVED] My computer has this problem displaying videos.
Hi, my computer has this strange problem. I have attached 2 digital photos. First screen is an old CRT screen and second is an HDTV. As you can see, the colors are screwed up. The reason why I had to take pictures instead of print screen is that the video part would just disappear when transferred to another computer for posting. It is as if only that computer can display those colors.
Anyway, I don't think it is a problem with codec. I have a laptop with the same codec pack (Combined Community Codec Pack) which displays everything correctly. I don't think it is a problem with the screen as I have tried a LCD, a CRT and a HDTV and they all have this problem with this computer and are fine with other computers. Here is the specs for that comp. AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Radeon X1900XT Asus AN8-E 1.5 GB of generic RAM 500W PSU By the way, I've reinstalled windows numerous times and the problem still persist. I would appreciate any insight. P.S. Anyone recognizes what scene is playing? |

Re: My computer has this problem displaying videos.
Im not impressed with the psu you have listed. What are the specs on
it, brand and model please. Have you installed mobo drivers, are the video drivers up to date? Is there a extra power lead that needs to be plugged into video card? If so is it, and is it a pci-e power lead? Can you adjust resolution?

Re: My computer has this problem displaying videos.
Actually sorry but nevermind. I just found the solution. I had to disable something in ATI Catalyst.
By the way, what do you mean you are not impressed by the PSU? That PSU has supported my video card during some very graphics intensive games without any problem. I remember having ordered it separately for around $70 about 3 years ago. I can remember the brand, but it was one of the most popular and got several great reviews. Also, it has modular cables, which I think is something every high end PSU should have. To the questions "Have you installed mobo drivers, are the video drivers up to date? Is there a extra power lead that needs to be plugged into video card? If so is it, and is it a pci-e power lead? Can you adjust resolution?" the answer is yes for all of them. The PCI-E power lead is through an adapter. Last edited by gabrezu; 01-12-2009 at 04:23 AM. |
