Software Crossfire not working w/ 975X chipset and dual X1650 pros
I'm trying to set up software Crossfire on my Asus P5W DH Deluxe mobo between two identical "crossfire ready" PowerCooler X1650 Pros.
I installed both new cards on the mobo, got rid of my old drivers with driver-cleaner, then downloaded and installed Catalyst 8.12. Then in Catalyst Control Center, there was just simply no tab for Crossfire. Under Information -> Hardware, it listed one of the cards as the primary adapter and the other as a "Disabled Adapter" under the first. I searched out some related forum posts and found out that apparently some people were experiencing a bug in CCC 8.12 that prevented the Crossfire tab from appearing. So I then tried downgrading to CCC 8.06. In that version, the Crossfire tab did indeed appear, but the check-box to enable Crossfire rendering was greyed out and the second card was no longer being acknowledged in CCC's hardware information page. Full system specs: -Asus P5W DH Deluxe Wifi (later revision, shipped with crossfire-ready bios) -Intel E6600 Core 2 Duo -4gb Corsair Extreme 800mhz RAM -320gb HDD -550w Antec PSU Anyone know a starting point for me to try to fix this? |

If I'm just missing something obvious or trying to combine hardware that is known to be incompatible, someone please say something.
