Vista blackscreen after bootup

Hi,

I recently reloaded my operating system using my system restore disks. I now have to do all my windows updates again. Every time I do them however, after bootup I get a blackscreen which never goes away.

Through process of elimination I've found out that the problem is my graphics driver. I'm using an integrated Nvidia GeForce 6150 LE. Without a driver I can't game at all, and every time I download it I get the blackscreen bug. I've gone ahead and done my other updates like SP1 and other recommended updates.

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Hello nickd123,

Are you installing the driver through Windows Update?

If so then try downloading the latest driver from the Nvidia website.

Re: Vista blackscreen after bootup

Thanks for the reply,

Yes I have tried installing through both windows updater and the nvidia website itself. Both have the same result. =[

There are alot of other recommended updates regarding my grahpics driver as well... I'm not sure how to install them in which order and stuff. Also on the nvidia site it says search for mother board drivers, but when I do so it says unable to detect a graphics card or something. Seems really messed up =[
