Will upgrading my Video Card make a difference?

I got a PC that I made a while back, and wanted to know if I put a 9800 GTX+ in it will it make the frame rate in games jump as it did on my brand new system.

OS: Windows XP SP2
CPU: AMD Athlon X2 5200+ Black Edition 2.6Ghz
RAM: 4GB DDR2-800
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 2000mhz FSB
Current Vid: ATI HD2600 PRO 256MB

Video Card I want to upgrade to: 9800 GTX

so my final question and to summarize it all, if I do upgrade to a 9800GTX+, will the gaming be improved a lot compared to the HD2600 Pro?

It will kae a difference. In some apps and games it won't be all WOW, but it'll let you get the most from your PC.
