Re: ATI or INVIDIA???
Buy the best, forget the rest:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102768 Sure hope you have the power supply to run one of these, because both take a real beast to run them.

And soon there's going to be another card at the top of the graphics heap.

Re: ATI or INVIDIA???
This is what one of te customers on newegg.com wrote:
Pros: Hot chick on the sticker of the casing. Cons: First I'd have to say power/dollar value is TERRIBLE. Ran it on 3Dmark vantage after buying two for a crossfire setup and individually they mark about 10.5k points for graphics processing. I had my $215 192 core GTX 260 hit 10009 points. Together they are even more disappointing. I am even changing out my mobo to get away from ATI crossfire. HOT! Man these things run hot!!! When loaded about 90 degrees celcius in an antec 900 case. I didn't really like the color quality on these cards. Drivers seem to be an issue when crossfiring these. $150 dollar restock fee for tryin them out... Other Thoughts: The GTX 200 series really is the way to go. I will never buy ATI again. This is 3 times I've been let down by ATI's upper end GPU's. |

Re: ATI or INVIDIA???
Well, first of all both those cards will run on the warm side, so just the nature of the beast. The ATI by far the best card and here is a comparison chart to help you:
http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/g...Score,794.html BTW: When reading NewEgg (the best site on the net for products) reviews, always look at the experience factor and rig setups. Their reviews can be very misleading at times. If in doubt, check someone like Tom's Hardware reviews.

Re: ATI or INVIDIA???
There are so many good ones out there that I would hate to recommend since I am not heavy into gaming. However, I have a couple of team members or friends who have more knowledge in this area and I will ask them to stop by and comment on that issue.

Re: ATI or INVIDIA???
You can't beat the support you get from EVGA their video cards are great and the support staff very knowledgeable, their motherboards on the other hand leave a lot to be desired but I think that has more to do with the Nvidia chipset.
I'll vote for the GTX280 more games seem to be coded towards them. |

Re: ATI or INVIDIA???
Now I'm really confused LOL. So lets say I go with the GTX280, 2 of them sli'ed. Will it work well with this motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813188039 and this cpu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115202 ???

Re: ATI or INVIDIA???
Well that EVGA board is a SLI board for Nvidia cards so you can't use a Xfire set on it any way.> http://www.evga.com/products/moreInf...board%20Family
I would look at either Gigabyte or Asus for a X58 motherboard. |
