[SOLVED] Nvidia 6200 display problems

/sigh

well after 3hrs of downloading drivers and checking up many sites in google, and a spinning head says to give a try here.

I was plating world of warcraft on my PC hitting up dungeons with guildies when all of a sudden my PC froze. I waited for 2 mins and then i hit the reset button. My PC booted up and when it came to the windows loading screen i noticed faint white dots and 3 blue vertical lines on the screen. i was confused at first. My PC booted to its desktop and i found that my setting where changed to minimum of 4bits (bad graphics). So i went to display settings and changed it to 32bits and set the screen resolution to 1024x768 pixels (good graphics).
when the changes were made i found my screen to flick at every sec or if the mouse was moved also if i right lick to c the menu, i found it light and unreadable even thou the graphics is good . I thought the display frequency was changed so i looked at it but was at 60Hz the usual. i followed the troubleshooter in the display but it didnt solve the problem. I got the display ok then it flicks every sec and at the boot up i still see 3 vertical lines.

So i unpluged the 6200 card and tested with the onboard to c if the monitor was at fault but its fine. cant find the drivers for the onboard ={

I also formatted the PC to c if the files where corrupted but its still the same

Re: Nvidia 6200 display problems

instead of updateing the drivers try rolling them back in windows. It might not work but it is worth a shot

Re: Nvidia 6200 display problems

I'm having the same problems. I've had them since I bought the card. And I can't figure out what to do. My only other solution is to buy a new card. I think the cards are junk personally and we got ripped off.

Re: Nvidia 6200 display problems

Try cleaning the card with a can of compressed air available from most office supply type stores, if the heat sink is dusty it will cause it to overheat, it may be damaged and not return to normal or it just may return to normal after the cleaning.

Tried that. I even put in a fan and no luck. I decided to monitor the temp on it when i'm playing 3d games likes World of Warcraft. On the lowest setting possible and the temp runs at 39C. Could it be anything else..

Re: Nvidia 6200 display problems

The 6200 is not a good gaming card it's more of an upgraded integrated chip.

Yeah see I didn't know that, but I just got my 9600 GT OC card yesterday and works great.
