Re: so i installed a HIS radeon hd4670 and...

it does not supply enough amps on the 12v line[s] to run a pcie system
it is mean't for an agp system at best

Power Supply Information and Selection

it would have been cheap because it is classed as generic

Post Re: so i installed a HIS radeon hd4670 and...

By the sounds of things this is an HDMI issue with the HD sound not being disabled, this tends to cause alot of performance issues with the HIS 4670's and the PowerColor 4670's. Just go in and disable the UAA Bus Driver and everything should improve, just be sure that when you are installing the cards drivers each time to disable the UAA Bus Driver or atleast check it or you can end up having to ask again...lol...Hope that helps bro, let us know how things go and if I find a easier way of doing things I will let you know...Cheers!

Re: so i installed a HIS radeon hd4670 and...

Massive necropost.

Apparently this thread got buried and he never got a PSU recommendation... Mine would be a Corsair VX550W.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=Corsair%20550

This is 99% likely a PSU issue. The PSU he chose is garbage and frankly not good enough for a modern gaming computer, even with a midrange card like the 4670. I've seen better +12V current ratings on 400W PSUs. I highly doubt it was the HDMI.
