ATI Drivers=BSOD?

Hello,

Not a very long while ago..i had a BIG BSOD problem.
The problem seemed to be caused by my unstable OS which was a XP x64 SP1..(which was very outdated). It seemed that a ATI drivers update was the app that triggered those BSOD's.

A few different bugchecks, but the latest was 0x109 = critical structure corruption = Kernel code corruption.

All of the Microsoft files in your system are in a frozen state w/ timestamps = March 24, 2005. You have kernel version 3790 - which is XP Service Pack 1 (XP SP1).

Before anything further can be done, you must update your system to XP x64 SP2, then let the system stabalize... then onto XP SP3. Most device drivers and anti-virus are out of date as well.

What killed you here were the December 1, 2008, ATI driver upodates. Had it not been ATI, some other app would have caused a BSOD in the very near future.

Well,i decided to get a x86 version of windows and i have updated it to SP3..BUT after a shor while i started yet again to get BSOD's with the same errors:
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
AND
an error that didn't show any message but after the stop (...)
there was another line ATI***.dll
I cannot remember what was after ATI because my pc reset shortly..but
it seems the ATI drivers are to blame.

Is there any way i could get my drivers to work withoug BSOD'ing me?

Re: ATI Drivers=BSOD?

in the device manager uninstall the video card
reboot tapping f8 and choose vga mode
when windows finishes rebooting
disable a/virus
install your drivers
reboot the computer

Re: ATI Drivers=BSOD?

Well i did reinstall the drivers with no result..i keep getting random BSOD's
Weird tough..it seems i don't get them only during apps that should stress the pc more..for example i can play crysis with no problem..but when i'm listening to music while browsing the internet i get a BSOD..
Also weird is that i also have linux on the same PC and it NEVER crashes..EVER not even a reboot.
I've uploaded the minidumps just in case you may need them.
