Ahhh! Graphics card, mobo fried? Someone please help!

Hey everyone. I recently brought Left 4 Dead for PC. Installed and was playing the game, and then kaboom. Computer went on a rampage, I went alt-ctr-del to exit program but basically computer crashed. Ive had to do a fresh vista install to get her working again because everytime I loaded her up after the crash my screen was all fuzzy and eventually froze.

So here I am, after a full system restore having problems. Is my graphics card, motherboard or something else fried?

Here is where I am at. Ive installed Windows Vista, fully updated her using auto-updates. I have been to Nvidia website and clicked and fully upgraded my drivers for motherboard and gfx card using auto-detect fuction of their website.

I click Device manager and click my gfx card and I see a error icon over my gfx card. When I click properties on my gfx card I get the message "Windows has stoped this device because it has reported problems (code 43)".

Im pretty sure all my drivers are updated.

So guys, what could the problem be? My computer specs are down. Also, when I go to driver manager > select my gfx card > check for solutions > I get error message saying drivers couldnt be loaded?

ANY help, suggestions would be MUCH appricated. Im stumped.

Thanks.

What brand and model is your power supply?

PCI-E requires 26 amps at 12 volts. That's a 650W PSU.

Re: Ahhh! Graphics card, mobo fried? Someone please help!

Cracked open the case, the only thing I could see without taking out the actual power supply, to identify it was 'OCZ Technologys Model OCZGXS 1010'.

You think my power supply is kaput? Pretty sure my comps only operating on inbuilt mobo VGA graphics or whatever at the moment.

Re: Ahhh! Graphics card, mobo fried? Someone please help!

error 43 is usually device failed
check if you are using onboard or the card
to change from onboard to the card if thats the case

boot from the onboard
in the device manager disable the onboard
if the card is listed uninstall it
turn the computer off
install the card
change the video cable from the onboard to the card
reboot into the bios
check to see if you can disable the onboard in there and set it to detect agp or pcie first
save and exit the bios tapping f8 and choose low resolution mode
when windows finishes booting
disable a/virus
install your drivers for the card
reboot the computer
