Can't Play Games..?
So I used to be able to play Call of Duty 4, then I removed almost all of my programs and stuff, nothing I needed to run my PC though. Now, I try to run some less demanding games, such as; Gunz, MapleStory, Combat Arms, Portal, Counter Strike:Source, etc.
Whenever I try to run them, I open it, but it doesn't go to the game. It will run through like the anti-hack checks and everything, then when it gets to the actual game it comes up with one of the following errors: Your PC does not have the needed version of DirectX (needs 9.0, I have 9.0), or your video card does not support TnL. Another one; whenever I try to run a Valve game, like Counter Strike, Portal, etc. it says comes up with an error window that HL2.exe failed and I can either send an error report or not. I think it might either be my video card or because of this CiD virus I can't get rid of (all it does is forces a lot of pop-ups, as far as I know). Here are my specs: Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2 Computer: AMD Athlon 62 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+ 2.11 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT Integrated RAMDAC If you need anything else tell me. I'm pretty sure I just need a new video card but I'm not too sure with these things. My system meets all the requirements needed to run the games, maybe it's broken or something? I'm not that good with computers so yeah.

Re: Can't Play Games..?
Will do, I'll post with the results once I update my drivers, DirectX is the latest, and I'll upgrade to SP3 too.
If that doesn't work I guess it's time to try to get rid of that darn virus =X |
