is my PC compatible with this?
Hey guys, I got a new video card off my uncle and it doesnt seem to be going in. I'm not so computer litterate so i'll try to describe it as clear as I can.
My CPU Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, build 2600) System Manufacturer: HP Pavilion 061 System Model: PS422AA-ABG m1277a Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU 2.93GHz Memory: 1536 RAM Video Card ATI R9600PRO 256M The problem looks like the slot isn't far enough. Does anybody know a way I can get this to work? If not, what video card should I be looking at? (for gaming) |

Re: is my PC compatible with this?
Assuming the model is m1277a it has a PCIex16 graphics slot and the 9600Pro should be a AGP slot card.
You would need a PCIEx16 card and most likely a power supply to run it, there should be a label on the side of your power supply listing the total watts and the amp ratings for the different rails a pcie card needs 26 amps on the 12v rail. |
