9600GT Problem, no image after first restart

So I just got a brand new computer and here are the specs if you need to know them. http://onbit.pt/product.php?producti......=513&page=1

I started by inserting Windows XP Sp3's CD and formatting the HDD(took 2 hours to format a brand new HDD =\)

After the installation was complete, I inserted XFX Drivers' CD that came with the computer and a window poped up with a messge saying that the VGA detected was no XFX's, to visit NVidia's website for further info.

I didn't pay much attention to it and thought I could do that later, so I inserted the mobo's CD and installed bus, ethernet and sound drivers.

After that was compelted I had to reboot the computer, which I did and resulted in a black screen after window's finished loading, but still allowing me to hear windows startup sound and shutdown(as I hard-shutoff the comp).

That made me think of a GPU's problem, but I don't really know what to do, so I decided to come here and ask for your opinion.

Re: 9600GT Problem, no image after first restart

I read some stuff on NVidia's forum and tried doing something this morning.
I booted windows on safety mode, and tried installing 180.48, which is the latest drivers for nvidia cards, but I still have the same problem....

anything else I should try?

Re: 9600GT Problem, no image after first restart

Ok I managed to get the graphic's card working, by unpluggin it and plugging it again.

My problems are others now.
After getting this to work I decided to install motherboard's software, BUS, ETHERNET, HD AUDIO and ONBOARD GPU Drivers, but after using my a-bit nforce mobo's CD to intall those, I get errors saying there was a problem installing the hardware.

Anyways I'm posting this on other section:

First you install the motherboard drivers then the video drivers.
