Comparing Video Cards and VGA/d-sub Q.
hey, i was going to buy a hd 4670 but now i found another site with what looks like lower prices. could someone tell me what video card on this site that is under $140 (aus dollars but all the costs on the site is aus already) and is better than a radeon hd 4670 512mb GDDR3 128-bit. i heard the 4670 is good because of the high clocks, but most video cards for sale on websites dont even show the clocks. because of this it made me wonder: are clocks determined by some formula to do with bits, memory and ddr? or are clocks just how the manufacturer made it be and has nothing to do with the ram, bits and ddr. so could someone please go on this website; http://www.computeralliance.com.au/p...spx?qryCat=VID and suggest a video card under $140 that is better than a hd 4670 512mb GDDR3 128-bit. i had a look at the albatron 9600gt and but it didnt list the clocks. then on the albatron site it advertised the 9600gt on the top and it said : 512mb 256 bit DDR3 Memory (1800Mhz Clock). because it said 1800mhz in brackets i then thought it clocks determined by memory x ddr number + bits? but then that wouldnt work out for the 4670 because i already know the memory clock is 2000mhz.
http://www.albatron.com.tw/English/p...ication&no=241 is the site for the albatron, it says it has 900 memory clock. why? i mean the advertisement for that video card on that site says 1800. just wondering how did it get the 1800. so would that albratron 9600gt be better than a hd 4670 512mb gddr3 128 bit? also .... can i plug in a vga monitor cable into a video card that has d-sub? but forget the albratron, realized it doesnt have vga or d-sub output. so any graphics card that has vga or d-sub thanks for any input -b0k1 Last edited by b0k1; 12-11-2008 at 03:40 AM. |

Re: Comparing Video Cards and VGA/d-sub Q.
The nVidia 9600 chipset cards are equivalent to an ATi HD 3XXX card. The HD 4670 would mop the floor with the 9600 card due to the fact that it is designed to compete against the GTX 200 series.
Here is a quick comparison chart from best to worst of the two chipset makers: ATi - nVidia Radion HD 4XXX - GeForce GTX 2XX Radion HD 3XXX - GeForce 9XXX Radion HD 2XXX - GeForce 8XXX Radion x1XXX - GeForce 7XXX Radion xXXX - GeForce 6XXX Radion 9800 d - GeForce 5XXX FX Radion 9200 d - GeForce 4XXX Radion 7000 d - GeForce 3XXX/2XXX/1XXX Replace d with any ending Replace X with any number x is not replaceble anything on the same line has almost equal performance |
