Which ATI HD 4670??
I am having trouble deciding which HD 4670 to order. I will be ordering from Newegg. I do not understand what many of the specs listed mean for the different HD 4670 cards. Would someone more knowledgeable than me mind looking at Neweggs HD 4670 cards and pick me a winner? I do not want the cheapest (they are pretty close in price) but I also do not want to spend money needlessly. Would you mind saying why you picked the card as I may learn from this? Thank you!

Re: Which ATI HD 4670??
Which CPU do you have the 410's had a couple of different C2D's
The other problem your going to have with a XPS 410 is the power supply the stock one is 375w about half of what you'll need need to run a HD4870 successfully. |

Re: Which ATI HD 4670??
Actually wrench I am looking at the 4670, not the 4870, big difference LOL. I have the intel 6400@2.13, 1gb. ram (upgrading to 2 gb when I find some that is compatible) 375W power supply.
I settled for the 4670 as it meets my minimum requirements at the lowest power consumption, 49 watts max. I would rather have a HD 3870 or HD 4830 as the money is very close but these would require a power supply upgrade. |

Re: Which ATI HD 4670??
The 4670 is going to be close those 375w did have problems with 8600GTS's a 500 or 550 would be better and for the 4670 the E6400 will be fine. PC Power and Cooling does make a Dell replacement unit to fit the XPS400 and Xps410.
Back to the card do you require any HDMI or TV out functions? |

Re: Which ATI HD 4670??
I do not require HDMI or TV out. In a previous thread magnethead was helping me with my gpu and memory upgrades. He suggested this memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227189
after reading some reviews it seems people are having trouble running it in my computer (XPS 410) due to it needing 2.1v and the Dell is 1.8v? Could you confirm whether this is the correct memory for me? |

Re: Which ATI HD 4670??
Crucial is all I put in Dells works first time every time. > http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartsp...094A88A5CA7304
The 2.1v will usually work the 2.1v is the max voltage you can set it at but since yours is a OEM system you don't have memory adjustments for voltage or timings. Last edited by wrench97; 12-10-2008 at 11:41 AM. |

What about this gpu- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102792
Is this the best choice? And this memory- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231098 this memory get good reviews and seems to work in Dell computers. |

![]() I picked that memory based on reviewers using it in a Dell XPS 410 without problems. Other than the possible compatibility issue is that quality memory? It seems the main problem with memory compatibility and my Dell is that the mother board does not support higher voltages on the memory, the memory must run at 1.8v. Many recommended sticks require 1.9v-2.1v, such is the case with the memory magnethead suggested. |

Re: Which ATI HD 4670??
This is a tad faster> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102804
Sapphire makes a good card their support can be a PITA at times is my only problem I've been spoiled by EVGA over the last couple of years, But I think these are better cards then the mid range Nvidia cards at the moment. On the memory GSkill has never been on my list of have to have ram and as for compatibility issues Crucial supplies most of the Dell upgrade ram if you bought it from the Dell site which is why I just use the Crucial Configuration utility to get the part number and google for prices sometimes it's from Crucial others elsewhere. |

Re: Which ATI HD 4670??
Thank you for your help wrench97, I will go with the card and memory you suggested. I think I found the same memory as the Crucial you listed on Neweggs site, I would like to order everything from Neweggs if possible.
