Possible to Run Duel Vid Cards That Are Not The Same?
Hi,
I'm new to the forums but I was wondering, I am currently running a BFG 7900 GS on my Asus P5B board on XP but was wondering if I could slap an additional BFG 8600 GTS into the other PCIe slot. I don't want to run SLI, just I have two monitors and wanted to push out to another two monitors. I know that historically this is a no no and it doesn't help that the 7900 GS is DX9 while the 8600 GTS is DX10, but i was wondering if this would still be possible, and if so, what I needed to do? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks |

actually, if you have 2 PCIe slots and the same driver supports both cards under the same OS, it should work.

Quote:
PCIe is the onlyI/O type that will support multiple GPUs running simultaneously. PCIe + PCI is known not to work, and very, VERY few boards came with both AGP and PCIe.
