ATI HIS HD 4670 - BSOD (ati3duag.dll)

Well, just installed the card on my PC, downloaded latest updates, etc.

Whenever I start playing a game, it goes to BOSD with the ati3duag.dll error.

Any solution?

SPECS:

Intel Pentium D 940 3.20GHz (OC'ed to 3.80GHz)

Crucial 3GB DDR2 RAM

WD 500GB SATA HDD

450W PSU

HIS Radeon HD 4670

Windows XP Professiona

Re: ATI HIS HD 4670 - BSOD (ati3duag.dll)

I un-installed the card, used Driver Sweep to sweep the drivers, and re-installed, etc. Now I tried opening counter-strike:source, it runs for 40-2 minutes then freezes. This is twice in a row. So I'm guessing it's starting to freeze. My friend has almost the exact set-up but he has 330W and a faster processor and he runs fine.

Re: ATI HIS HD 4670 - BSOD (ati3duag.dll)

Updated to 550W PSU, it's not the power supply.
Although.. I do have Windows XP Professional SP2, I heard recent updates that updating to SP3 helped.. But that was for the BSOD error, I don't seem to get it, I just freeze now.

Re: ATI HIS HD 4670 - BSOD (ati3duag.dll)

if you don't find a resolution for it, you could just reformat , i know you probably got alot of important stuff on your hard drive.

you could try replacing your current ati3duag.dll, with an older one (from what i read, this helped some people)

not sure if this will help, but you can read here .... http://www.ngohq.com/graphic-cards/1...-death-et.html

Re: ATI HIS HD 4670 - BSOD (ati3duag.dll)

before reformatting
check the voltage range of your ram
the m/board may be defaulting to low and you may need to lift the voltage up

Re: ATI HIS HD 4670 - BSOD (ati3duag.dll)

Please run msinfo32 & save as NFO file
START | type msinfo32

Save it w/NFO file extension - you'll see it when you go to save it

Also run driver query

START | type cmd.exe | right-click on cmd.exe | run as admin - paste
Code:
driverquery /v > %temp%\0.txt & start notepad %temp%\0.txt
save as text file
Zip up both and attach

Regards. . .

jcgriff2

.

EDIT: Apologies - those are Vista commands - please do this:

msinfo32
START | run | type msinfo32 - save as NFO file

dxdiag
START | run | cmd | type dxdiag | bottom-center - save all as text

Attach these 2 to post

thanks... JC

Re: ATI HIS HD 4670 - BSOD (ati3duag.dll)

Hi. . .

The dump -

BugCheck 10000050 (0xe3daa000, 0x1, 0xbf329c54, 0x1), probable cause = ati3duag.dll, ATI Radeon HD 4670 driver. Process running at time of crash - hl2.exe

Timestamp of crash - Thu Dec 4 00:31:54.468 2008 (GMT-5)

0x10000050 is the same as 0x50 = PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA = invalid memory referenced.

Only current active use drivers in physical RAM. Others held in page file. When an app accesses memory address not in RAM, interrupt (page fault) generated and then looks to page file - normal process. If page not found, invalid page fault error causes BSOD.

0x50 usually caused by several items -
- installation of faulty hardware or existing hardware failure - usually RAM. Could be physical RAM or video RAM
- faulty system service (no way this could be MS XP SP3 service - my opinion)
- anti-virus
- corrupt hard drive

ATI drivers found in dump:
Code:
bf062000 bf0ef000 ati2cqag.dll Tue Oct 28 21:12:49 2008 (4907B891)
bf012000 bf062000 ati2dvag.dll Tue Oct 28 22:22:02 2008 (4907C8CA)
b9841000 b9d5a000 ati2mtag.sys Tue Oct 28 22:21:38 2008 (4907C8B2)
bf1a1000 bf57bb00 ati3duag.dll Tue Oct 28 21:57:56 2008 (4907C324)
bf0ef000 bf15e000 atikvmag.dll Tue Oct 28 21:21:20 2008 (4907BA90)
bf15e000 bf1a1000 atiok3x2.dll Tue Oct 28 21:18:30 2008 (4907B9E6)
bf57c000 bf7d7b80 ativvaxx.dll Tue Oct 28 21:41:11 2008 (4907BF37)
.

Two items I noticed and don't recall ever seeing before - ntfs.sys and cdfs.sys both listed as disbled, yet running and found in dump file - both are XP SP3 drivers:
Code:
NT File System Driver
Ntfs File System Disabled Running
 4/13/2008 12:15:49 PM
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\Ntfs.sys

CD-ROM File System Driver
Cdfs File System Disabled Running
 4/13/2008 12:14:21 PM
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\Cdfs.sys
Noticed you have Flashplayer 6 installed. Run the tool 1/2-way down that page to verify your installation.
Code:
flash6	6,0,88,0	837.62 KB (857,720 bytes)
7/27/2006 11:02 AM	Macromedia, Inc.
c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash\flash6.ocx

Are all Windows Updates in?

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (50)
Invalid system memory was referenced. This cannot be protected by try-except,
it must be protected by a Probe. Typically the address is just plain bad or it
is pointing at freed memory.
Arguments:
Arg1: e3daa000, memory referenced.
Arg2: 00000001, value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation.
Arg3: bf329c54, If non-zero, the instruction address which referenced the bad memory
	address.
Arg4: 00000001, (reserved)
