Installing Zalman VF1000 heatsink on Geforce 9800 GTX+, question on how ram layout
So I planned on installing a zalman vf1000 heatsink on the geforce 9800 gtx+ card I bought for new PC.
I got the zalman today and looked at the box and said may need a seperate ram heatsink with certain geforce cards, the ZM-rhs88. So I search online after looking at the zalman sites install guides for both the vf1000 and the rhs88 ram heatsink/with vf1000. That it depends on how the ram is layed out on the actual card if I need one or both heatsinks. So the 9800 GTX+ has a cover on it in all the pics I can find so I cant determine the ram layout. For whatever reason I wont get my hands on mine until next week. If anyone has looked at their 9800 gtx+ could you please let me know if the layout resembles either of the following, in link click the how to install to see what ram layout is for each item. Re: Installing Zalman VF1000 heatsink on Geforce 9800 GTX+, question on how ram layou
I think I may have answered my own question, after searching around for a while I came across some site that had the cover/fan off a gtx+ and I can see the configuration of the ram.
Turns out I dont need the extra ram sink, (more importantly I don't need to shell out another $30) |
