Graphics card dying, pics included for your pleasure!
Hey guys,
Recently my PC has started locking up, and then when I restart I get pixelated lines across my screen as such: DSC00266.JPG DSC00265.JPG I've tried taking the card out and cleaning it, but still no luck, I'm not sure if its dying a slow inevitable death of maybe its just not getting enough power or something? Either way I hope you guys can help. Specs: MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL 64BIT EDITION AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ System with GeForce 7950GX2 2Gb DDR2 I can't find the spec for the PSU but it was part of a bundle deal so I imagine they would of fitted it with an adequate PSU. edit to add: This problem has been going on for the past two weeks or so and normally would go away after leaving the PC alone for 5 minutes, leading me to the conclusion of it being a heat issue, but I've just discovered that if I start in safe mode while all these green lines are going on, windows loads fine! the screen where it gives me the option to boot in safe mode is clean as is the rest of the bootup. But if I try to load it normally nothing but green lines and then blank screen at windows. Any thoughts? Last edited by jkkkk; 11-25-2008 at 04:38 PM. |
