Monitor shuts off when I

My monitor would not come on,would be in sleep mode. So I reattached all the connections. I turned the monitor on and get the connection signal on the monitor with the colored box.

The problem is when I attach the cable to the computer video card outlet the monitor goes into sleep mode. I have removed the PCI video card and reinstalled same situation.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Re: Monitor shuts off when I

I know its a Nvidia card. not sure the CPU. The motherboard is ASUS sorry don't know the model. 350 watt power supply. The computer was locking up randomly before this happened. Can't check the volts or tempatures as I can not connect monitor. Thanks

Re: Monitor shuts off when I

I have had the same power supply for 3 years with no problems. It just recently started to act this way.

Re: Monitor shuts off when I

is the video card pci or pcie
we need the details of the system to be able to make a viable suggestion you can see the computer in front of you
we need the details so we can see what we are dealing with or we are only guessing which will never work
see what this gives you but only post the details asked for not everything it lists
http://pc-wizard-2008.en.softonic.com/
for the power supply you have to take the side off and look at the label on it
