9800GX2 or 260GTX video card?

I'm purchasing a new computer with an i7 Processor and right now I can choose between an 9800GX2 or 260GTX my monitor I'll be using is 1680 x 1050. Which one should I go for? I can choose the 260GTX or the 9800GX2 for 4 dollars cheaper. So I'm really just deciding on which is better for gaming on my monitor.

The gx2 is much better. But the powersupply you have listed there isn't a very good brand for either. For the 260 650w is enough , for the gx2 you will want a 750w or higher. Quality brands include antec's trio , thermaltake's toughpower , corsair , pc power and cooling , coolermaster , or silverstone.

So the GX2 would be better than a 260GTX? I've heared the GX2 has had heating problems and stuttering issues.

Well make sure the gx2 you get has a dual slot venting cooler and that you keep the room temperature low. Also , an underpowered or low quality powersupply can cause them to overheat. Make sure you have enough intake and exaust fans aswell.

If you can power it properly and have decent cooling it shouldn't overheat and in turn stutter.

Re: 9800GX2 or 260GTX video card?

That looks good , the corsair 750 and 9800 gx2 will be good. The only thing about your build is that I wouldn't buy pc speakers online. I would go to a store and listen to them in person , that way you don't over pay for a speaker system that sounds the same as a less expensive system.

Also make sure you get enough fans to occupy all the fan holes on the case.
