[SOLVED] Need PCIe 16x Video Card for Vista **MoneyCrunch**
just destroyed my desktop and also got RIF'd, so I need a fairly inexpensive Vidcard for new budget PC...
I bought the walmart version of a Newegg Compaq desktop discussed in this thread: http://www.techsupportforum.com/hardware-support/video-card-support/315014-bought-pc-looking-vid-card-upgrade-advice.html Unfortunately, I really can't go for a new PSU, if possible, as required in the above thread. Looking for an alternate, value solution that is Vista supported. Desktop model: Presario SR5413WM O/S: Vista 32-Bit Home Premium SP1 PSU: 250W Athlon LE 1640 RAM: 2GB DDR2 PCIe 16x HDD: 250GB SATA 7200 DVD-RW internal Monitor: Non-HD Acer 22" LCD "Outervision eXtreme" PS calculator showed support of many vidcards w/ this combo @ roughly 200W but not sure how accurate. Any suggestions appreciated. Last edited by GreenSuedeShoes; 11-22-2008 at 01:08 AM. |

Re: Need PCIe 16x Video Card for Vista **MoneyCrunch**
250 watts isn't enough for any card really. Normally , if you had a stock 300 to 350 watt you can slide with a low end card because you may have an extra 50 or 80watts. But 250watts just isn't enough for both the pc and card together.
