Asus HD3870 not detecting S-video to TV
I hava an Asus Radeon HD3870 and Im trying to play games on my TV using the S-video cable from my graphics card to the TV. I also have my CRT PC monitor connected by VGA cable and it is working fine. I have gone into Catalyst control center and set the display properties to force TV detection. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and the catalyst control center, powercycling and all. When I right click the "2" icon denoting the second display in catalyst and try to enable it it doesnt work, it just reverts back to a grey "2" in half a second. there is an icon showing the TV in the "Attached displays currently disabled" section but when i right click on it nothing happens. A tooltip window appears when i leave my mouse pointer on the TV icon saying to click the right mouse button to enable it but nothing happens when i do. any ideas what i should try next?

Re: Asus HD3870 not detecting S-video to TV
it is a 4 pin but i didnt think that really mattered...from what i have read...The output from the card is a 7 pin output but the input on the tv is a 4 pin female input, are u certain that it needs to be a 7pin bc ihave read elsewhere that it shouldn't matter, just to be sure before i go buy a
cable. |

Re: Asus HD3870 not detecting S-video to TV
I have never tried a 7 to 4 pin but have successfully used 7 pin cables on video cards that 4 pin cables would not work on I can't really say that I ever looked at the TV end I always assumed they had more then 4 pins?
