Hi guys,
I have been trying to resolve an issue with my graphics card for some time now and at an end. Error is when ever I run any graphics app / games - Eg Nvidia physsx demos, Games , COD4, C&C generals. Running a graphics card test with nvidia software still locks it up. I am able to load the games up and soon as I start the game play area my Pc screen turns off- goes black - no signal input. The pc is still running. So I have to reset it and try again. The error started as soon as I set this PC all up. I exchanged the graphic card for another. Same problem. All parts are brand new. Fresh install of Win xp. 1. Many different nvidia drivers have been tried. 2. Using different memory chips. 3. Tested ram and all is fine. 4. Increased CPU mhz 5. Reinstalled games 6. Disabled on board sound card and installed a creative card. 7. Kept case open for more cooling. 8. I read somewhere that I should check the voltage output to the card. cannot find where to do this. Bios is Phoenix award workstation. I have once managed to play COD4 for 1 hour and that was the end of it. Not sure if it may be a compatibility error with the board and graphics card. System specs - 500 watt power supply Amd athlon 64X2 duel core - 4200 1 gig ram - ddr2 - 667 Windows xp Nvidia geforce 9500 GT 1gigg ram everything brand new.... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

Re: Nvida Gforce PCI express Graphic errors - No signal
Hi, welcome to TSF
Open your case and post back with the full details from your PSU label. We need the make/model, total watts and amps for +12V. I would expect to see a stronger PSU to power a PCIE card.

Re: Nvida Gforce PCI express Graphic errors - No signal
That looks ok. To see if it's performing correctly, make a note of the temperatures and voltages in BIOS (point 8 in your first post). I think for the Phoenix Award BIOS, you'll find these under the Power section.
Reboot into Windows and check the temps/volts at startup using SensorsView with no other programs running. Then try and get something graphically-intensive running, if possible, and take another set of readings from SensorsView. Enter your full system specs into this power calculator and set Capacitor Aging to 25%. Click the Calculate button, then add 30% to the total to allow for PSU inefficiency. Post back with all 3 sets of readings and the calculator results so we can compare how your system copes at idle and under stress. Are your BIOS settings set to default/optimized or have you overclocked anything? Go to Start > Run > dxdiag > Display tab and run the tests. If the fullscreen tests don't cause your computer to crash, are there any problems listed in the Notes box? The 9500GT has a PCIE power connector, but this is not required as the card draws its power from the PCIE bus. If you have attached the power connector, try removing it. If your motherboard has more than one PCIE16 slot, try another slot.

Re: Nvida Gforce PCI express Graphic errors - No signal
Hi, I bought the new Corsair tx650w SLI Ready power supply. still getting the same error.
Ps I didnt mention in my previous post. My Nvidia geforce 9500 GT card does not have any additional power connector on it. it only connects direct to the PCIE slot. Not sure what else can be done now ... any ideas ? |

Re: Nvida Gforce PCI express Graphic errors - No signal
Hi, I picked up some arctic silver and cleaned off the CPU and reapplied the arctic.
These are the last few logs - it looks like as you mentioned over heating. I managed to run a game once for a few hours and then it wouldn't load up again. I ran the game and then ALT - Tabbed while it was running in the back ground and it was running at a core temp of 20. as soon as I reopened it crashed again. is there any way around this or should i take it in to a PC repair place ?
